McLaren’s Nurseries Ltd is proudly built on family tradition, passion, and bold ambition. Over fifty years ago, Robert McLaren, a time-served electrician, and his wife Ruth made the life-changing decision to follow their shared love for growing plants. What began as a modest venture on a small holding in Inchinnan soon blossomed into something much greater.

Today, McLaren’s Nurseries Ltd stands as Scotland’s largest nursery in terms of plant variety; in fact, we proudly hold in stock more varieties than any single nursery in Europe. Our business spans over 50 acres, including 15 acres under glass or poly-tunnel, and continues to grow. Our roots are firmly planted in Scottish soil, and we embrace the challenges and opportunities of the local climate. Our plants are grown to be resilient and robust, ideally suited to thrive in the Scottish landscape and far beyond.

We like to do things ourselves and never shy away from getting our hands dirty; that hands-on, can-do spirit is at the heart of how we operate. It keeps us close to our plants and connected to every part of the growing process. We serve an ever-expanding customer base that includes garden centres, DIY retailers, landscape gardeners, architects, charities, golf courses, and members of the public.

Whether you’re looking for a single plant, a handful of five, or large commercial quantities, we’re proud to offer flexible ordering to meet your needs. Customers value not only our unmatched range of hardy, homegrown stock, but also the personal, practical approach that defines everything we do
